The author of 13 guidebooks on California recreation,
Ann Marie Brown is a dedicated outdoorswoman. She hikes, bikes, and camps more than 150 days
each year in an all-out effort to avoid routine, complacency, and getting a real job.
In addition to her best-selling guidebooks, Ann
Marie's writing has appeared in Sunset, VIA, and Smithsonian magazines. As a
way of giving back a little of what she gets from her experiences in
nature, she writes and edits for several environmental groups, including
the Sierra Club and Natural Resources Defense Council.
When she isn't traipsing along a California trail,
Ann Marie can be found at her home just a few miles from Yosemite National Park.
